

Joyce Ann Bennett Moore, 83, passed away on Fri, July 17 following a short illness with lung cancer. Joyce was born to Berneta and Elmer Bennett in Cherryvale, Kansas. When she was 8 years old the family moved to Ohio where her maternal grandparents lived. In 1947 the family moved to Phoenix, traveling in a two seated Ford with half of the backseat loaded with boxes and the other half occupied by Joyce and her sister. Joyce graduated from North Phoenix High School and attended Phoenix Junior College. She married in 1951 and had two children, Fred Jr. (better known as Stoney) and Mary Ann. After her children were grown she attended ASU, graduating with a degree in accounting. She obtained her CPA Certification and worked as an accountant until retiring in 1999. Joyce accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized as a young teenager. As long as she was able, she was active in her church; First Phoenix Baptist, Mo! nte Vista Baptist, Fountain Hills Baptist and until her illness, Chaparral Christian. Joyce brought bright smiles to all who knew her. She is survived by her younger sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Cameron Crump, and her two children, Stoney and daughter-in-law Josie and Mary Ann and son-in-law Ken Paulic, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services wil be held at Chaparral Christian Church, 6451 E. Shea, Scottsdale, AZ, Saturday August 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to Youth Haven Desert Ranch, P.O. Box 716, Eloy AZ 85131
