When she was about three years old, Karen’s parents moved the family to Ohio to be closer to her father’s family. She grew up there and graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1965. During her high school years, Karen was active and full of life. She spent a year as a cheerleader and loved singing in the choir. Her talent stood out when she was selected from across the state to perform in a special musical group, an honor that reflected her beautiful singing voice and love of music.
After high school, Karen worked a variety of jobs, including at the Ohio unemployment office. In 1973, she moved to Arizona and worked at the state workers compensation department.
For a time, Karen lived independently, and it was during this period that she met her husband, Paul Keller. Their connection was immediate, and they soon married, beginning a loving and devoted life together.
Karen and Paul shared many happy years filled with travel and simple joys. They enjoyed day trips together, especially to the mountains, and while living in Oregon, they often visited the coast.
Karen had many hobbies and a creative spirit. Like her mother, who was a seamstress and tailor, Karen was very crafty. She also had a joyful, lighthearted personality and was known for her sense of humor. Karen was an avid reader with a special interest in English history. She enjoyed singing and loved duets with her brother Dennis.
Karen’s siblings included Bobby, Duane, and Dennis. She is survived by her brother Dennis and his wife Linda, along with her nieces including Stephanie and her husband Dustin and their children, Lux, Vaughn, and Dana. She is also remembered by Robert’s children, Rachel, Rebecca, and Sarah.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Keller; her parents, Paul and Harriet Miller; her brothers Duane and Robert; and her nephew Denny Paul, who was very close to her.
Karen will be remembered for her creativity, humor, love of music, and deep devotion to her family. Her warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.
