Karen Ann Reed

Karen Ann Reed, age 68, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 31st, 2019. She was born July 7th, 1951, in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Donald & Betty Sennott (Franz). She married the love of her life Allen W. Reed on July 22nd, 1972. Together they had 2 children. She will be remembered as the matriarch of the family; for her loving, caring guidance, her nurturing, generosity, fortitude, friendliness, compassion, and as a great conversationalist. Karen enjoyed her work for the City of Glendale as an Executive Assistant to the Council members for 20 years, retiring in 2014. She was also a parishioner of St. James Roman Catholic Parish for 30 years, many of those years as a Eucharistic Minster. She was an avid football fan of her favorite football team the Green Bay Packers. She could be heard yelling at the television every time her beloved team played during the season. She loved talking to anyone about her team. She could be seen sporting her Packers gear often. She was also an avid BMW fan. She won a bet with her husband and obtained her dream car the BMW Z4. Her family teased her she loved her Z4 car more than them. She loved being a part of the Z Club and took drives with them often. Karen is survived by her husband of 47 years Allen Reed, two children Kimberly (Kent) Brzezniak, Michael Reed, two grandchildren Sawyer and Syvana Brzezniak, Karen’s Sister Lynn (Jim) Gissal, Sister Gail (Marc) Chiarello, nephew Bryan Gissal, niece Tannia Eastman, two great nieces Bryanna and Mikaela Prestridge. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday September 12th, 2019 10:00 am at St. James Roman Catholic Church 19640 N. 35th Ave Glendale, Arizona. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at National Memorial Cemetery 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s name to Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
