(April 14, 1938- June 8, 2016)
Born: Devil’s Lake, North Dakota Passed away: Phoenix, Arizona
The youngest of five children to Anton Bosch and Agatha Schiff Bosch.
Lorraine is survived by: Her husband, Merlyn Delane Frigon and four children, their spouses and grandchildren: Michael Delane Frigon (Roberta Breshears Frigon- Joshua and Caleb), Russell Lee Frigon, Bret Alan Frigon (Brenda Brewer Frigon- Jacob, Meghan, Ryan and Cody), Nicole Marie Frigon Studer (Jeffrey Studer), and Sisters: Janice Bosch White and Cecelia Bosch Whitehead.
Lorraine deeply touched the lives of those who had the opportunity to know her. She will always be remembered for her genuine compassion and devotion to others, her enthusiasm for adventure, fun-loving spirit, unmatched wit and sense of humor.
Lorraine filled this Lifetime:
Her Love of Family… extended far beyond a fifty-five year marriage to her beloved husband and the raising of four children. Looking back…it was farther than chasing her (fresh out of the bathtub) naked, three year-old daughter down Estes street. It was certainly farther than playing “taxi driver” to school and sporting events, dance and piano lessons, preparing her traditional homemade meals, mending broken bones and broken hearts, and pacing many late nights…waiting at the garage door to ensure her four teenagers were safely home…and because she was a comedian, she did it all with a sense of humor that was second to none. She provided a main course of unconditional love and a heaping side dish of proof that “laughter really is the best medicine” and no matter how many times she told the same joke or story, it was like hearing it for the first time. Lorraine was a teacher- she taught her children how to cook, do laundry, how to balance a checkbook (some may have slept through that lesson), and most importantly...how being compassionate and kind to others makes a positive difference in the world. Lorraine’s devotion to her husband created a lifetime of beautiful memories- their dance “In the Mood” will forever symbolize their shared lifetime of partnership, laugher and love. Lorraine was a caregiver and knew just what was needed when you were sick and she was always there so you would never feel alone …and her family knows first-hand how a hug and a kiss made them feel as they heard the words, “I love you…” whenever they departed and the door creaked shut. She raised a family with strength, compassion, honesty and above all…Love.
Her Love of Nature… extended far beyond her appreciation of the golden wheat fields of North Dakota, Big sky of Montana, Arizona sunsets and the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Nature inspired Lorraine to author a lifetime collection of poems- and her poem “Snow” is published in the Library of Congress. She took pride in her “green thumb” for gardening and filling her home with décor for every season (especially Christmas!)- and you considered yourself blessed when your phone rang and it was Lorraine calling from “God’s Country!”
Her Love of the Arts… took her all the way to 1st runner-up Mrs. Montana. Her passion for the “Golden Age of Hollywood” inspired her to perform in the choir and local live theater throughout her life (Arvada Festival Playhouse and Billings Studio Theater) and she instilled that appreciation in her family. Performing together annually at the Festival of Nations (Serbian Greek Dance Troupe) was a highlight of Lorraine’s family bond and togetherness. And who could forget her love of Halloween, a time that gave Lorraine the opportunity to express her inner-youth as year after year found her dressed as “the Witch”, scaring the neighborhood children with her unmistakable cackle and ensuring her own kids would “share” their chocolate spoils with her, exclaiming “Give me chocolate and nobody gets hurt!”
Her Love of Service and the Community… was a lifelong commitment as she devoted her time to various charities. The work she did at the clinic for abused children, volunteering summers at the camp for blind children, working the local food banks and teaching children to read were experiences that made her even more appreciative of what she had- wherever she was- “in her own backyard.”
Lorraine’s Legacy… Her Love of Life took her chasing… not just that three year-old daughter, but her three loving sons, beloved husband and grandchildren to a lifetime filled with amazing achievements… and leaving her loving footprint of cherished memories.
She chased and she taught.
She created, laughed and loved.
She sang and she danced.
And for her… a hug and a kiss.
…and an “I love you…” as she departs…
…and the door creaks shut…
Lorraine’s beautiful smile will be missed…but her soul will always be in our hearts.
A Celebration of her life was held in her honor at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Huger Mercy Living Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
