Lowell "Ed" Edward Duncan, age 74, passed away on November 27, 2020 while hospitalized in Phoenix, AZ. He courageously and faithfully endured cancer therapy and its side effects. Then completing his earthly journey, he received the Lord's " Welcome Home" and began his heavenly adventure.
Ed was born in Arkansas and his family moved to Arizona during his childhood. After serving in the
United States Navy he settled in Phoenix.
He and Connie, his beloved wife of 48 years, raised their 3 children Corey, Ian, and Caitlin. Then he was
promoted to be "Papa" to Andrew and Hannah. Ed was a devoted family man and always said that "home" was his favorite place.
Family included brothers Billy and Joe, sisters Dianne and Michele, many nephews, nieces, cousins
and in-laws.
Ed had the gift of explaining complex matters in simple terms. He served as an instructor in the Chandler-Gilbert flight mechanic program and at Rice Aviation. During his19 years at Honeywell they referred to him as "The Professor". He loved learning and passing on what he knew. He was as good a listener as he
was a communicator.
Ed was noted for being a truly humble man. He was eternally grateful for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He didn't make excuses for his mistakes but used them as examples to encourage others to pursue
excellence. As a substitute teacher for our Bible class he enjoyed magnifying the truth of God's Holy Word.
Even though we didn't get to say "Good Bye" we had the honor and privilege of hearing and saying
"I love you" thousands of times. Indeed, his was a life well loved.
The Memorial service at North Phoenix Baptist Church is to be determined.
