It's been 2 years since you left us. For some of us, it's been hard to deal with missing you. When you were alive, we would sometimes find ways to avoid your wrath when things don't go your way. Now, I feel like the light/fire that was always lit is missing and we are somehow lost still trying to find our way. We can choose to move on and find ways to numb the pain but its only temporary.  Your boys are okay. We find happiness any which way we can but still want to hear your voice laughing with us or at us lol. We miss you and love you very much Tia.  "Pollo"

She always called me her prodigal son. Why? I don't know...maybe because I was outgoing, maybe because I had a plan, maybe because I was always helping her when I could without hesitation. I was always teased by my younger brothers that I was moms favorite. Truth is, she loved us all the same but showed it differently. Mom didn't always know how to show love and sometimes even didn't know how to say I love you before she said goodbye. Her actions however always showed her love for us. She cried when we were sick, she prayed when we were lost, she laughed when we would joke, she argued when she felt she was right. I called her a sensitive bad ass because she was sensitive but if she was mad she was a bad ass lol. She never wanted to be a grandma until she saw the birth of her first grandchild and then they became her whole reason for existence. She loved unconditionally and gave whole heartedly. She was a pain in the ass but dammit she was my pain in the ass. Despite all her illnesses she kept her passions in life going such as the folklorico,  God, being a grandma, etc.  Until she just couldn't do it anymore. Until we meet again momma. I will always love you. You will forever be a savored moment in our lives. 

I'll remember Mrs. Lucy in so many positive ways.  She touched so many lives for the good.  She always had a big smile and a terrific sense of humor.  Love you Mrs. Lucy🌹

I remember how kind she was to watch my brothers and I when my father was busy. She made us delicious spaghetti one night. It was the best. She was there at my 16th birthday party. I remember her singing in her mariachi outfit at grandpa's birthday. She loved to sing just like my mother. I know she is singing now in heaven. I thank her for reaching out to me during my lowest time in my life after losing my mother.  It was comforting and I felt loved. Thank you Tia. ❤

I joined Ms. Lucy's folklorico  group, Lindo y Querido when I was six (2012) and I had gone through a rough couple years  beforehand, and when I had joined her group, she had shown nothing but love and warm welcoming for me. She has a kind soul and has a fiery kindred spirit. She taught me to never give up and I never did in anything I wanted to do. She taught me how to find the goodness out of any bad situation and use it for the better goodness of others. She always believed that her kids and her folkorico children all had a greater purpose in this world. She always treated everyone like family no matter our background and told us many great stories and events in her life. Even when I had left the group in 2016 to pursue another dream of mine, she gave me nothing but love and advice to continue on with my life and sent the best of wishes for me to succeed. She even came and supported me in one of my Theatre performances which meant the world to me. If i had never met Ms. Lucy I probably wouldnt have the fiery and huge personality that grew in me over time. Ms. Lucy left in an imprint in my soul and it still shines in me every day.  She was someone who was beautiful on the outside and extraordinarily gorgeous on the inside. She was powerful, she was loved, and she was a home I never thought I needed. 

Lucy, so many memories since 1978 ... from going to church with family, making tortillas with your mom,  doing each other's make up, trying to ride a horse, sneaking time with Manuel and getting caught by my parents lol, visiting Cowtown, lots of laughter, many hours of ballet folklorico, parades, working in a couple of my dad's movies, and so much more! I am so thankful for our time all these years especially the last few months ... leaving you bags of goodies and more at the rehab places, taking you groceries or just talking about the good ole days! You will be missed but always hold a special place in my heart. I love you Ms Lucy! -Jeanne

Since day 1, the very best Nana to my kids. A true blessing to us all! We will miss you dearly and we will cherish all precious memories, always in our hearts! Until we meet again!

The first time I met Lucy was in front of Ray & Reynas place. I was outside in the front yard when Lucy pulled up in her car. I didn't know any of them, but I watched Lucy open her car trunk and she had many bags of groceries. I watched as she kicked a large package of Tp or paper towels all the way to their front door from her car on the curb while she had her arms full of grocery bags! When she came back out of the house, she was alone, so I asked her if she needed help with the rest of her bags. Well, it was obvious she didn't need help since she found a way to get it all in the house. Lucy was very friendly, and we had a nice chat outside of their house. Funny how we are both around the same age and automatically started talking. Then i asked her if she liked pecans. She said YES and I told her I had 2 pecan trees in Gisela and have plenty to give. I brought her a grocery sized bag of them, and she told me to put them in her car trunk to hide because she wasn't going to share! LOL! So, we kept it a secret every year until Lucy was in the hospital and I messaged Reyna to let Lucy know I have pecans waiting for her. I'm so happy I was able to meet and get to know Lucy while she was here. 
Rest in Heaven Lucy!

She has been my mother figure since I was in 3rd Grade. She helped raised me to not take anything for granted, she always stood up for me even when I didn't need her to do so. She was also the life of the party. I will miss her but not as much as some would because her voice and love will always be with me. She is up there with her husband, parents, brother and sister in law. 

Mom you will be missed so much. You are survived by 3 sons, a daughter in law and 3 grandchildren. We love you. Your memory will live on forever along with Dad.
