

Marcus attended Whittier Elementary School and graduated from North Highschool class of '06 with a 3.0 GPA. He loved to play instruments. He played trombone, trumpet, and violin. He was also a good singer. He was in school choir, Arizona State choir and was also in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church choir. In Highschool he played football, they went to state, he played all state football left tackle position, #77. During half time he would play with the marching band in his uniform, that was never seen before. He also played Basketball. In a game Marcus played North vs. Central, Marcus made them set the record of scoring 100 points. Marcus was so proud. He also played first baseman. He also acted in a musical.
After graduating Highschool he started working for the Phoenix elementary school district. He loved working with children. He was very passionate with the kids. He was a Godfather of five beautiful children; Elijah Scrogging, Tamia Scroggins, Ellianna Rose, Bah Tarin Torrence, and Macowlay Walters.
Marcus was a PAN member with his friends, Anthony Tarin, Jason Warren, David Mosley, Cyrus Bigham, Justin Simon, Tim Scroggins, Rocio Velanzulla. His friends say he was the glue to the crew. He always called to check on everybody. His friends would call him when they would have a bad day and Marcus would give encouragement. Marcus had a way of making you feel better. He was very sensitive but he had no problem putting you in your place. He was outgoing, always whistling and singing. He loved his music. He was a happy person. He liked grilling and barbecuing.
Some people go a life time without finding true love, Marcus found love with Maricela Sanchez.
Marcus' last words were "I'm going to sleep good tonight". One week after his crossing over he came to his mother in a dream. She asked him if he was alright, he told her not to worry, I know your going to miss me. He was smiling from ear to ear. Again he said to her "Don't worry" and he threw her a peace sign.
