Margaret Claire “Peggy” Cox, 85, of Phoenix, passed away September 23, 2011. Peggy Cox was born May 8, 1926 to Esther and Alva Clay Hill. Peggy’s family moved to Prescott when she was three, and she subsequently graduated from Prescott High School and the University of Arizona. She was married to James D. Cox, Jr., for 60 years, who passed away in 2010. Peggy was a dedicated elementary school teacher in the New River and Deer Valley School Districts before becoming an avid aviatrix, owning and flying several single-engine airplanes for more than 20 years. She spent the last portion of her life very happily with newfound friends at the Beatitudes Campus in Phoenix. Her family members include her sister Barbara Fall (who passed away in December 2011) and brother-in-law Samuel Fall of Golden, CO; nieces Pat Fall (Steve Falconer) of Phoenix and Christine Lenker of Seattle; nephew Michael Fall (Peggy Sparr) of Baltimore; and her three much-loved cats. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 8th at 9:00am at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., in Phoenix.
