

Margaret Odell, 71, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully on February 17, 2012. She was born May 13, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Phoenix with her mother and sister in 1953. She attended Phoenix West High School, where she met her future husband and lifelong companion, Virgil Lee Odell. They were married for 52 years. For 20 years Margaret worked various civil service positions at Air Force bases where Virgil was stationed. After retiring from civil service, she worked for American Express until her final retirement in 1991. In her spare time she remained involved in her children’s activities, becoming a baseball and bowling coach. She also read voraciously, amassing a large WW II library. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Brazda, mother, Anna Maravich and sister, Delores Ronnow. She is survived by her loving husband, Virgil Odell, son, Cary Odell (Dawn), daughters, Cynthia Alspach (Brian), Crista Rihel (Scott), Claudine Zweygardt (Doyle), and grandchildren, Alexander, Sean, Jadyn, Chase, Katelynn, Jordan, Grace, Tyera and Wyntur. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 22nd at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Az 85027. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, February 23rd at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 19644 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, Az 85027. Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
