Marilyn Armeda Edwards, aged 90, died on May 1, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Marilyn was born in Syracuse, New York, to her parents Ronald and Armeda Jagger. She grew up in Rochester, New York, until she moved with her family to Phoenix in 1948.
In Phoenix Marilyn met and married her husband of 71 years Edward Thomas Edwards in 1954. After raising two sons, Stephen Matthew Edwards and the late Edward Ronald Edwards, in New Jersey, Marilyn and Ed moved back to Phoenix in 1985.
Marilyn served as the Executive Director of the Respite Shelter, and was a devoted member of Orangewood Presbyterian Church.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Edward, her son Stephen and his wife Lorraine Edwards of South Hamilton, Massachusetts, late son Edward’s widow Fredda Edwards of Phoenix, grandchildren Matthew Edwards and his wife Sinyin Edwards of Southlake, Texas, Jeffrey Edwards and his wife Natasha Edwards of Salem, Massachusetts, Gwendolyn Iris Edwards Cothran of and her husband Lee Cothran of McKinney, Texas, Jonathan Edwards and Joy Edwards both of Phoenix, and great grandchildren Ella and Louisa Edwards, William Cothran and Minerva Edwards.
Funeral arrangements are through Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary in Phoenix.
