Marjorie Kathleen Simpson

Marjorie Simpson passed away early Monday, January 18, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 102 years. She is survived by her son Thomas Simpson and daughter-in-law Liz, her daughters Tana Daniel and Ann Casey and her sister Patricia Fisher. She leaves 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Marge was small in stature and determined and loving at the same time. She did not suffer fools and was quick to offer her opinion in straight forward language delivered directly to the offending person. Just a few months ago a caregiver was putting on Marge's compression sock. They talked as the care giver struggled to put the sock on and explained that she had just transferred from housekeeping. After finally getting the sock on, Marge advised that "the care giver should stick to house keeping". Hearing this most would ascribe that frank exchange to Marge's advanced age but those that knew her throughout her life know that she would have delivered the same advice in the same manner when she was thirty.

Marge and her beloved husband, Simmy with daughter Ann moved from Ohio to Phoenix in the early 1970's when they were transferred there by Goodyear Aerospace. The original plan was to work the few years remaining to retirement and return to Ohio. After a few months Simmy mentioned "when we go back to Ohio" and Marge replied "if you go back, you're going alone" - she had fallen in love with the desert and mountains of Arizona. They traveled the country from coast to coast in their motor home and enjoyed so many friends that they made in FMC association. They visited family and friends every summer in their motor home. It was a very happy period of their lives.

Simmy passed away 15 years ago, and Marge missed him terribly every day. We are all so thankful that she is with him again.

The family has decided to have a celebration of Marge's life in the future. In lieu of flowers or gifts in memory of Marge the family is requesting that donations be made to Hospice, 3205 W. Ray Rd, Suite 2B, Chandler, AZ 85226
