Mark Ryan Redding, 49, of Avondale AZ, died Saturday April 18, 2026, as a result of a motorcycle accident. The son of Roger and Linda Redding, Mark was born and raised in Dickinson, ND where he graduated from Dickinson High School. Whatever Mark set his mind to, it received his very focused attention and devotion. A teenage skateboarder, a horse training cowboy, a welder- whatever he undertook, he pursued with focused devotion and a desire to master it. In junior high, Mark met Sandi May, the young woman he would one day marry. The two of them built a beautiful family of four children and led them on a grand adventure of life. Mark’s love of life and adventure led him to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Silent Drill Platoon and later with combat units deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and many other places. After twenty-six years of faithful service, Mark retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in July 2022. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Mark devoted himself to family, travel, and ministry. He used his musical gifts and brotherly spirit to serve the Lord through his church and through one-to-one ministry in the motorcycle community. He participated in numerous motorcycle ministry groups, rides, and worship gatherings. Mark also volunteered regularly in “The Zone,” serving the homeless and impoverished of downtown Phoenix with food, water, preaching and prayer. Mark practiced what might be called a ministry of presence. When people called, he did what he could to be there for them. He made multiple cross-country rides to support veterans and sick family members, and he used his music and horse-training skills to reconnect with loved ones whose lives he had largely missed during his military career. His childlike humor, smiling eyes, and easy familiarity made him a joy to be around. What sustained Mark through the adventures of marriage, military service, and ministry was his deep faith in Jesus Christ. He rested in the Savior’s forgiveness, the life of the Holy Spirit, and the promise of a God who would never leave or forsake him. At the end of his days, Mark entered the presence of the Lord he loved, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and his joy was made complete. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Sandi, his children Hannah, William (Maggie), Grace (Jared) Pardee, and Abby (Sabas) Rangel; granddaughter (Eliza), father and mother Roger and Linda, brother Paul (Amy), and numerous family, friends, and members of the Body of Christ. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday April 25, 2026, at Phoenix Bible Church, 6060 N 7th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85013. A Committal Service with Honors will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday April 27, 2026, at Prescott National Cemetery, 500 AZ-89, Prescott, Arizona 86301.
