Matthew Boykin, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend, passed away leaving a legacy of kindness and hard work that will never be forgotten. Known by all as a man who would "give the shirt off his back" to anyone in need, Matthew’s life was defined by his selfless heart and his unwavering dedication to his family.
A Life of Service and Diligence
Matthew was the definition of a hard worker. He took great pride in providing for those he loved and faced every challenge with a grit and determination that inspired those around him. Whether he was helping a stranger on the side of the road or supporting a friend through a tough time, Matthew’s generosity knew no bounds.
Family and Legacy
Matthew’s greatest joy and proudest achievement were his four daughters and two sons. He leaves behind Ava Boykin, Mia Boykin, Aliyah Boykin, Eve Boykin, Tyler Oudeans and Tyson Oudeans who carry forward his strength and his spirit.
He is survived by his parents; mother, Dawn Shotswell and father, Matthew Boykin; grandparents, Jack Thomas, Craig and Ginger Tippets and Karen Arnold; sisters, Natasha Boykin, Delta Dawn, Asha LeAnn; brother, Abel Otton; uncles, Trinity Boykin, Daniel Skobic, and Teddy Costeira; nephews, August Boykin and Eric Hample; niece, Mashayla Rose; girlfriend, Cherri Peirce; cousins, Jennifer, Jacki, Charles, Rebecca, Damien, Gunner, Anthony, Kaiela, Lauran, Harley, Aaron, and Steven; second cousins, Seager, Markham, Fern, Joey, and Javi.
A Heavenly Reunion
While his presence will be deeply missed on earth, there is comfort in knowing that Matthew has been reunited in peace with his beloved fiancé, Jessie Otton, his infant son, Matthew Boykin, his grandmother JoAnn Thomas, his grandpa Danny Boykin, his uncle Mike Grow and cousin Amy Grow.
Matthew’s warmth, his helping hand, and his love for his family will be the light that guides his daughters, two sons and loved ones through the days ahead. He taught us that the greatest measure of a man is how much he gives to others, and by that measure, Matthew was truly a giant among us.
