Melvin graduated in 1962 from Gordon Public High School, he then went on to receive his degree from Milford Trade School in Drafting. Following Mel's graduation he served in the U.S Army National Guards as a Medical Technician.
Melvin married the love of his life Maxine Hannappel, August 26, 1967 in Clarks, NE. They lived in Lincoln, NE for a short while before they moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1969. Mel was a Design Engineer in Phoenix area until his retirement, where he continued to stay in Phoenix, AZ.
Melvin was a member of the St, Gregory Catholic Church. In his free time he enjoyed dove hunting in AZ, followed by deer hunting in NE. Mel would go to the carport sales, park and swap, but most importantly he enjoyed visiting with people.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Maxine Paul; his brother Mike Paul (Barb); his grandson Liam Marlar (his father Andy Marlar).
Melvin was preceded in death by his daughter Monica Paul; his father John B Paul and his mother Mary W. Kearns; his brother Marvin Paul.
A gathering for Melvin will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St Gregory Catholic Parish Phoenix, 3424 N 18th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015. A funeral service mass will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3424 N 18th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015. An inurnment will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery, 2300 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
A reception will follow after the inurnment at Gordon Hall in St. Gregory Catholic Church.
