Michael Scott Mileham

Michael “Milo” Mileham, 75, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026 after a long, well fought, battle with cancer.Born on February 28, 1951, Michael proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army.

Michael was a lifelong athlete. He graduated from Paradise Valley High School, Class of 1969, and enjoyed running track and playing football, of which he received many accolades including All-State in both sports, which led him to play football for University of New Mexico Lobos. His athleticism continued well into his adult life, and he competed on the softball field for many years. Michael was very proud of the 6 Championship rings won during his long career with his teammates and SSUSA.

Michael retired from the Paradise Valley Unified School District after 30+ years of service in their Maintenance Department. He was a skilled tradesman. Michael helped many with side-work and had a reputation for high quality work with an incredible eye for detail. Wages were fair, and sometimes a case of beer is all that was needed.

Known to many as “Milo,” he cherished his family and friendships above all else. Michael will be remembered for his lifelong friendships, captivating stories, gentle heart, and unwavering devotion to his family. Milo could be seen on a regular basis around the valley enjoying a beer with friends, as a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and Elks. His passing is the end of an era - well lived.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, George Mileham; his mother, Arlene Mileham; and his brother, Thomas Mileham.

He is survived by his daughters, Mindy Marshall (Dave) and Erica Roberts (Brandon), and his beloved grandchildren, Emily, Kyle, Brian, Evan, and Trevor.

A service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024, on Thursday, May 21 at 1:00pm.

A celebration of life will follow at American Legion Post 34 Hall, 6272 E Cave Creek Rd, in Cave Creek, Arizona, 85331 on Thursday, May 21 at 4:00pm.
