Michael Dwayne Stockton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Dwayne Stockton on July 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Michael was born on October 13, 1958 in Salinas, California, to Gerald D. Stockton and Dorothea I. Mapp.

Michael is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Jolene (Jo) Stockton of 21 year, who he lost 4 months prior to his own passing.

Michael was known for his quick wit and humor. His laughter was contagious and everyone loved to be around him. It was impossible to be unhappy or sad in his presence. He kept everyone around him laughing. He and his wife were members of the Happy Valley Baptist Church were they both taught and served God.

Michael served as a Glendale Police Officer for over 20 years , during which time he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery. In retirement, he enjoyed working at the Phoenix Zoo.with his beloved animals. Later he would serve in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 11 years as Flotilla Commander.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Amber Stockton and Alex Stockton, stepson Michael Colgan, grandsons Luka Gonzales and David Colgan, sister Geralen DeLand, nephews David DeLand and Robert DeLand and many loving cousins and friends.

While our hearts mourn the lost of such a beautiful soul, we take comfort in knowing he is in the loving arms of God and with all those whom we have loved and lost before him.

A graveside service will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, Arizona, 85027. The service is scheduled for August 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am..
