Nancy was such a nice person, a lovely lady, always pleasant, a wonderful mother.  It was a pleasure to be in her company.   Her loving family is a tribute to Nancy.  I always admired Nancy for her calm manner and steadfastness, in the best possible way.
Dave and I send our sympathy and prayers to Dick and to all of you who loved Nancy so much.
 

I will miss you, my best friend Nancy.  I have many memories of us raising our kids in the old neighborhood. We had fun.  We leaned on each other & learned from each other.  Our only disagreement had to do with the Dr. Spock method of raising children. Each in our own way, we were right.   I also recall the many nights we played the game of Aggravation-how we loved that game.  Rest In Peace my friend. Love Vivian

My Condolences and Prayers for you and yours!!! Your Mother was always So sweet to me as I spent more days in the "Office" then in the classroom my senior year. No matter what I was "in" for, she was always nice to me. I never really knew if she was on to my list of late excuses, because I had some really good ones! I would rub a tire and lie about having a flat on the way to school. But the day I asked her to sign my yearbook was a big mistake. I had friends that would pull the attendance cards from each class that I missed that week and placed them in my yearbook for a keepsake! As she was signing the book, the computer cards fell out!!! Next thing Dewey Williams sees are the CARDS!!! She was as honest as the day was long and THAT day just got longer! Haha. Wanted to share that and hope it brings a smile! GOD Blessed us with your Mother!

Mrs. Bates (how I knew her) was a very sweet lady.  It was very evident that she loved her family dearly and they felt the same way about her.  I'm very sorry for your loss.  



So sorry to read of Nancy's death. She was a remarkable person who touched so many lives. A kind and generous person has been lost to us but remains in Spirit. Condolences to all the family, and those who called her a friend.

what to say about you, not sure there's enough adjectives! You were an amazing woman, loving, caring  and very supportive no matter what!  I still brag that I had the best inlaws! You will be missed so much by all that  know & love you. Praying for the Bates family at this time, may you all be comforted & know that she touched so many lives. Dear Bates family,
Nancy was a rare jewel of a friend for me.  Always honest, true, and sincere.
We shared good times during workouts at Metro Fitness Club and fun lunches afterwards.

Best time with Gloria at my casita in Rocky Point, Mx, on the beach, eating, and laughing as we tried to sing along to music by Ulysses serenading us.  Que bueno!!!

 I'm very saddened to hear that Nancy or as we called her Boz, has passed on. She was funny and kind and was a real Rock of Gibraltar for the family. I could not have hand-picked a better mother in law. I will miss you.

Nancy and I became friends when  both our families moved in to 37th Avenue. We watched each other's children, we took walks to MetroCenter, we celebrated our birthdays at Mimi's, we laughed, we cried. She was easy to talk to, and she was a good listener.  I have so many memories of the two of us. She made the most wonderful Christmas cookies, and she learned to like Mexican food. She helped me with my sewing projects. I could tell her  anything, and I knew she  would help me with advice.She was a good, loyal friend. I will miss her.  Rest in peace my dear friend.


I am saddened by the loss of your mom and my Aunt. I have good memories from my childhood with all of  us together. She was always good to us.  It’s very difficult losing your mother , life is never the same . My prayers are for all of you to go to God for comfort.  We are far away but are close in thought and prayer.

My heartfelt prayers are with the Bates Family during this difficult time.  Nancy's daughter Lisa and I worked together many years at Abbott Laboratories in Irving Texas.  This is where I met Nancy during one of her visits to see Lisa.  She was a kind, elegant and humorous lady.  She was kind enough to share with me her special buttercream recipe that Lisa loves so much.  She will be greatly missed, but heaven has gained another angel.  Please accept my sincere condolences for all of her family.  God Bless and comfort you all.
