I worked with Nicholas for a while. He was always smiling, so helpful, and could make me laugh even when I was having a rough day. I felt as if I was working with one of my own grandsons. I am blessed to have known him.

The thing I am going to miss most about Nick is the way he made you feel when he saw you. He had this remarkable quality  where he made you feel like he had known you forever, like you were apart of some special club- just to make you feel like you had a friend.  He was the first person to help you out of your car, or help you pack your things up after a family party. 

He was just so kind.

I believe he  possessed the rarest quality that a person can possess, which is to be kind without intention. 

 I believe this gave his life purpose- to be kind for the sake of being kind. 

We need to reflect on how uniquely special that really is.  How selfless that is- a person who's purpose in life was solely dependent on lifting others up.

We need to honor his memory by living like Nick- to be Kind without intention. To help others, whether it is someone you have known forever, or it's someone you are meaning for the first time.

To say we are going to miss him isn't enough.

There are no words that exist to express all that should be said. What there is- is love of so many who will love and support you through the physical loss of your beautiful boy, Nicholas. We have loved him from the moment he was born- truly your greatest joy and blessing. May his kindness, laugh, smile, charm and goodness be carried on by all who loved him and may the millions of hugs he insisted on giving you be felt in your heart when you need to feel his arm so casually draped around the woman, he loved the most. I’ve watched my nephew Nick and my sister love each other unconditionally for 29 years. She celebrated his successes and dusted him off from his challenges. He fiercely guarded her like a prized possession. She never gave up when times were tuff and kept him grounded as much as possible when times were great. He loved no one in this world the way he loved his mother. I believe he will always be right next to her, speaking to her, listening to her, and laughing with her. His soul will never be gone from this world because their love of each other has made him immortal.

I had the privilege of being Nicholas’s Aunt Dawn.  I was his babysitter when he was little and will always remember his negotiation skills at nap time and that cute little smile that helped him get his way to watch one more episode of Power Rangers.  Growing up he always looked out for his younger cousins and the pride and love he had for them shows in all the pictures that have been compiled here.  Nicholas was a generous soul that took pleasure in lifting others up when they were down. He was intuitive, caring, giving, and kind to all that knew him growing up and he never lost those traits as he grew into manhood.  Nicholas had a contagious smile and an infectious laugh that drew others to him. He spread joy to all of those around him everyday. He was always willing to help anyone; a neighbor, family, friend or client.  Nicholas knew the value of human connection and took time to learn people’s names so he could greet them the next time he saw them like they were an old family friend.  Bailey and I will always treasure the years he was our roommate.  We remember eating dinner at our TV trays watching Big Bang, White Collar, and Chuck.  Nicholas was always the first to give a hug and check in with everyone to see how their day was or if they needed anything. I am so grateful we had the time together so I could see the incredible man he had become.  Nicholas was the most selfless, loving friend to everyone that knew him.  He always exhibited his love for family and was not shy about showing affection to those he cared about.  He also took great pride in helping others and making a difference in their lives. Nicholas, I want you to know that time can never fade the memories of you.  You have touched our lives in so many ways that it’s impossible to ever forget you. I will carry you forever in my heart.  “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

My beautiful beautiful beautful boy you were the best thing to ever happen in my life! From the first moment I saw you I was completely in love with my handsome perfect little man.  I was also filled with enormous responsibility that any pain you would have in your life would be because i gave you life- I know you did not always understand my overprotectiveness but i wanted to shield you as much as i could from cruel things in our world but you trusted all and lived fearlessly.
As you grew you had a light inside you that others could immediately see and you gave it willingly to everyone. Our vacations and movie times  and dinner dates together are the best times of my life!!! 
As you became a man i was in awe of what an incredible person you were and how you woke each day in a positive way . I never had the chance  to tell you but i thought you were the best man i had ever known in my life- so loving and caring and giving and always wanting to pick my mood up as well as everyone around you.  I never have met a more selfless person and felt so lucky to be your mom and have you in my life. I cannot imagine my days without you but i know you always felt you were here for a larger purpose and i am going to tell myself that everytime i look up at the clouds you were admiring everyday and try to see you or the picture you are sending me from above.
 Thank you for being YOU and LOVING ME! Thank you for being My JOY! Thank you for all the SMILES! Thank you for the daily HUGS! When Nicholas was barely a pre-teen, we shared a fabulous day at Seaworld in San Diego. Our family met up with Dawn, Chad, Nicholas and Bailey. Nicholas was the oldest of all the kids and took his job with the utmost responsibility, but also provided the laughter and fun along the way. He impressed us with his respectful nature, his genuine heart, and his old soul. 

Nicholas clearly went on to share his gifts and influence many others during his lifetime. We are grateful to have been among those blessed with witnessing what a beautiful soul he had, even way back when.

Please accepts our deepest sympathies. We pray that your darkness fades into light and your hearts begin to heal from this unimaginable loss. 

I met Nick through work and from working with Laura. Every time he would come into our office to drop off or pick up stuff he was always smiling and super happy! You could feel his happiness and good vibes. Our jobs are stressful and even on bad days after seeing him I would think dang, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in a bad mood.  We didn’t know each other on a personal level, but after hearing the stories at the service today he sounded like he was such an amazing soul to know. We will miss his smile coming into our office. 



I first met Nicholas at a Bellows family get together. I felt like I already knew him as his Auntie Dawn and Uncle Chad spoke so much about him. He was just a little guy then with the cutest face and the most sweetest smile. Just a sweet adorable Little boy.

My favorite memory of Nicholas is that every time he sat across from me, he would smile and laugh. I will not forget that amazing smile and laugh. His eyes even smiled. It was contagious. He was special. Most often he was courageous, warm, insightful, thoughtful, empathic, strong, and resilient. I will not forget his special heart. Laura and John, I’ve treasured our friendship over  the years and felt so honored to share open and personal conversations with Nicholas. Such a special  young man and wise beyond his years. I adored talking to him in such a raw way and deeply grateful for the trust we shared.
