However, Patricia spent a majority of her life in Phoenix. When she came to Phoenix in the 1940’s, she came to learn how to fly airplanes, which was rare for women at that time. She joined a group of women of flyers, The 8 Ball Gang, and pioneered women’s flying in the United States. Pat then went to work for American Airlines where she met her future husband, George.
After her daughters were born, she was a stay at home mom. But, she was very active in the Girl Scouts and Madison #2 PTA. After her daughters graduated from high school, Pat went to work at Camelback High School in the registration office.
In retirement, she focused on water aerobics and was a dedicated participant for 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, and daughter, Mary Lou.
Services will be Monday, April 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Barbeli, LLC; PO Box 5447; Round Rock, TX 78664 would be welcomed.
