

Mountcastle, Paul Allen Sr., of Phoenix, AZ passed away on March 6, 2013. Paul was born the eldest of four sons on July 27, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Estelle Lucille and Paul Amos Mountcastle. Paul loved all things nature related, such as SCUBA diving, hiking, camping, and swimming. Paul lived all over the world as a military dependent, his most memorable places being Taiwan, England, and South Carolina. Paul came to Arizona in the early 1960s, eventually moving to the West Valley to attend Dysart High School. He was an avid runner and swimmer in high school, earning athletic awards for cross country running. He was awarded the highest honor of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America in 1967. After graduating Dysart High School in 1967, he attended Northern Arizona University, earning a Bachelor of Science in History. Paul worked in electronic sales for various companies in the Phoenix metro area for over 20 years, eventually leaving the field to work for Lowe's. He enjoyed his work with Lowe's Home Improvement before his retirement in 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents Estelle and Paul Amos as well as his daughter-in-law Dina Mountcastle. He is survived by his youngest brother John and other younger brothers and respective spouses Harold and Keitha, and Fred and Karen. He is also survived by his sons Paul Jr and Sean and son-in-law Joseph as well as grandchildren Jacob, Madeline, and Ginger. Funeral arrangements and memorial services are managed by A. L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary. A celebration of Paul's life is set to take place on April 6th, 2013 at 11AM. The address for the mortuary is 710 W Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013.
