Peter Loo, beloved father, brother, and friend, went to be with his Lord on September 16, 2021. His departure was unexpected, and he will be greatly missed. Peter would not want us to mourn his passing; but to celebrate a race run well.
Peter was born on June 17, 1962, in Rangoon, Burma. Peter was predeceased by his parents Nap Khoon Loo and Pearl Loo. Peter was a graduate of DeVry University and went on to work as a distinguished software developer. He was a devoted father to his three children whom he cherished and adored.
Peter was known as a multi-talented man, and he shared his talents generously. He tended to view his talents as gifts that should be shared. As a result, he touched and enriched many lives. Peter had a quick sense of humor and loved to laugh. To many, Peter seemed to be a Renaissance man. He was able to accomplish just about anything he put his mind to. Among his many friends and colleagues, Peter was esteemed as, part superman, part genius, and most importantly, as a genuinely honest, generous, and compassionate man. While Peter was friendly to everyone, he was essentially a private man. When he was not working, he preferred to spend his time with friends and family. Peter enjoyed many activities. Among his favorites was watching football games, horseback riding, gardening, and cooking Bar-B-Que. Peter was very passionate about cooking and his talents were much in demand. One of Peter’s characteristics was that he thoroughly invested himself in everything he did. He was often generous to a fault, and it was second nature for him to put others before himself. Peter was a loving man and he set a high bar for those he left behind.
Peter is survived by his three children: Kathryn E. Loo, Scarlett D. Loo, and William L. Loo. Siblings: Samson Loo, Stephen Loo, David Loo and Diana Loo.
He will be missed immensely every day. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. The best way for us to honor Peter is to love each other and to seek his Lord.
A private funeral is being held for immediate family due to Covid-19 concerns, there will be a livestream link available the day of his service.
