Randall (“Randy”) Ralph Greene, 69, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024 after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication. Born in San Gabriel, California, Randy was the third child of Ralph and Carol Greene. From an early age, he embodied kindness and devotion to family and faith, which carried through his life and touched all who knew him.
Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carolyn Greene; his three children, David Greene (spouse Erin Pitcher), Kimberly Merrill (spouse Joseph Merrill), and Laura Nelson (spouse Michael Nelson); ten grandchildren: Zachary Merrill, Makenna Merrill, Emmett Merrill, Avery Merrill, Travis Greene, Gideon Greene, Finley Pitcher-Greene, Alex Nelson, Sam Nelson, and Heidi Nelson; Mother, Carol; and sisters, Cindy and Mary. Randy was preceded in death by his father Ralph, his brother Robert (“Bob”), his sister Teresa, and his granddaughter, Payten Merrill.
A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Randy dedicated his life to following the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served a two-year mission in Colorado, sharing his faith and uplifting others. He later married Carolyn on August 6, 1977, a union built on love, faith, and an enduring partnership. Randy’s commitment to his family and his Savior was central to who he was.
For over 40 years, Randy built a successful career in sales, eventually owning his own business specializing in safety and paper supplies. His strong work ethic and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. But Randy’s greatest joy was always his family. He was the rock upon which they could always lean, and he loved each one without condition or hesitation.
Randy’s love was boundless. He was the first to lend a hand and the last to leave a prayer unspoken. He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely and took pride in their accomplishments. His faith in Christ guided him in all aspects of his life, and his kindness, generosity, and devotion to others were a reflection of that faith. There was nothing Randy wouldn’t do for someone in need, and his prayers extended to all, whether he knew them personally or not.
His family takes comfort in knowing that Randy’s legacy will live on in the lives of those he loved. He will be missed beyond measure by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
