

Rex Alan Marshall, 70, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on October 3, 2023 at home with family. Rex lost his battle with Multiform Recurrent Glioblastoma for just over 2.5 years. He was born on September 11, 1953, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Rex is survived by his wife Sherry (Moore) Marshall and children: Nathaniel (Theresa) Marshall, Jessica Marshall, Christi (Matthew) Booher, Kenneth Marshall-Perez, and Kailee Marshall-Levitch. He was a grandfather of eight and had one great-grandson and five foster grandchildren. Rex is survived by his sisters Cyndi Marshall and Jody (Cory) Bartz, two nephews, niece(+1), and two grand nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Marshall, mother Lorna Tolby Marshall Jennings Clark, and his grandparents, Virgil and Georgia Tolby, and Oliver and Josephine Marshall.
Rex (Alan) attended Nogales High School and later pursued higher education at NAU. He found solace and community at FSBC of Phoenix and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where he had previously worshipped.
Rex had a diverse career starting from floral design/delivery, forestry fire, fields within the hospitality industry, and eventually became the Owner/Operator of R&M A/C Repair, as an HVAC Contractor.
Rex had a zest for the outdoors and enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring geology. Rex also enjoyed music and played the acoustic guitar, banjo, electric guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Rex had a passion for art in various forms, including song writing, drawing, painting, poetry, wood carving, woodwork, metal sculptures, stained glass, obstacle courses, and building treehouses for his grandchildren. For the adults he would make homemade moonshine, mead, beer and wine. He was a creative soul who found joy in expressing himself through these mediums.
A memorial service will be held at Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery located at 2300 W Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ, on October 27th at 4pm.
