Born on April 4, 1961 in Stann Creek Town, Belize, he was raised with a large loving family which included Maria Funez (grandmother) and by his mother Eloisa Funez along with twelve children who are composed of his aunts, and uncles. Late in his teenage years he migrated to live in Los Angeles where he studied and became a certified diesel technician gaining employment at Arco for several years as a heavy duty mechanic. Thereafter, he later started his own company in AZ specializing along the same field. Ricardo was always fond of reviving and restoring trucks and cars with a special connection for muscle cars. His weakness for acquiring jalopies proved how much motor oil ran through his veins relentlessly fixing, and repairing any that he encounters. Ricardo always recognizes the true potential of every vehicle he has ever touched, regardless how broken down, rusted, and pieced apart they were. Ricardo was always the life of every party and lived each moment as if it was the only thing that mattered. Ricardo always had his heart on his sleeve for all to bear no matter of the consequences of his actions.
He is survived by his grandmother, Maria, mother Eloisa, brothers Jamil, and Anthony, wife Sherry, and his children, Ricardo Jr, Maria, Angelica, Francisco, and Savannah. His grandsons, Azzad, Hasad and Lorenzo.
