Richard Anthony Bertone

Richard Anthony Bertone, 72, of Cave Creek, AZ passed away on April 1, 2025. Rick was born in Pittsburg, PA where he lived until he joined the Navy in 1972. After 4 years of service, he moved to Arizona to be close to his family. After a year doing odd jobs, he joined Discount Tire in May of 1977 where he stayed until he retired on Dec. 31, 2012. Rick loved to travel, especially to tropical locations. He loved the beach, playing golf and was quickly becoming proficient at pickleball.

If you knew Rick, you know that he was very passionate about politics and the Steelers. A die-hard fan, he spent every Sunday during football season at the local Steelers bar cheering on his team.

Rick is survived by his wife, Catherine, his three children Kellee, Chris, and David (Stephanie), his 4 grandchildren, Payson, Brayden, Leo and Luca, his sister, Marlene (Tim) and her three kids, Valerie (Chad), Michele (Brad) and Timmy, and their children, Jayden, Dylan, Gavin and Avery. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Khole and his parrot, Crackers.

Rick will be remembered for his love of his family, his passion for the Pittsburg Steelers and politics. His laughter and wisdom were a gift to everyone who knew him. Rick will be dearly missed but will forever be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers. As a veteran himself, Rick felt strongly about supporting our veterans.
