

Rita (Raymond) Moore R.N. 86, may the Angels deliver her to the anxiously waiting arms of family and friends. Born March 25, 1927 to Katherine (Gunner) and Guy Raymond of Toledo, Ohio has peacefully passed after a courageous 10 year battle from Alzheimer's , on the morning of Saturday Oct 19th, 2013. Rita's education began at St. Michael's Parochial Elementary, Notre Dame Academy H.S. and St. Vincent's Nursing Academy in Toledo, Ohio. She also studied orthopedics in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of four, Rita Knew she was going to be a nurse, a passion that drove her career for forty-five years. Her employment started at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, as head staff Nurse. 51-55 Standard Oil- ESSO Lago Hospital Aruba Staff Nurse 55-60; San Lui Obispo Hospital, CA 60-61 Doctors Hospital Phx, AZ 62-65; Village Green Nursing Home- first Staff Nurse Phx, AZ; St. Joseph's Hospital barrows Neurological float and Neuro ; Maricopa Co. Health Dept. Clinic 9th Ave and Buckeye Head Staff Nurse; The latter two, Rita worked at consecutively for the last 10 years of her career. Yes a folk, that's 16 hours a day every day! As a young adult Rita played the Chello, studied Ballet in New York City and had many interesting stories including seeing Jazz Greatest Play Improv Sessions into the morning, after a late night shift, Rita was modest to a fault, but if you were a friend she might tell you about some of the patients she cared for including Hellen Keller. She also befriended Ruth Vanderbilt Trombley, and meeting Jackie Kennedy, while doing special duty for the Sen. John F. Rita had been a charter member of Pine Wood County Club since 1966. She loved her homes in Munds Park, Az. Where she retired for over 15 years. After seeing signs of dementia she was taken care of for seven years by her son and daughter. Then needing more care for her failing heart condition, she was admitted to the Greenway Adult Care Home, where she received pampered care and assistance by their devoted staff. We deeply appreciate their love and care of our mother during her stay. Proceeded by the parents Guy and Katherin Raymond, brother Guy Raymond, Sister Leona (Appleby). Remaining family, Brother Donald and Lynn Raymond, Daughter Candida Moore, son William Moore, all in Phoenix. Also her three nieces Mary Cieslikowski of Tennessee, Rita Darrow of Ohio, and Corrine Burress of Ohio. It was Rita's wishes to be Cremated and placed with her past fuzzy companion D.Z., into her garden on Northern, Az. No services, just a small private ceremony with family.
