
Robert Wayne “Bob” Hancock, 78 year old resident of Congress, AZ, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012. He was born May 5, 1934 in Nampa, Idaho, the son of Burl and Mable Gwartney Hancock. He married his sweetheart, June Mayes on June 9, 1960. They made their home in Arizona, where Bob explored his skills at Taxidermy and worked for the State of Arizona as bee inspector. His first love was June… followed very closely by his love of bugs!!!! The Hancock’s worked endlessly at the family business of taxidermy. He always said “There’s nothing easy about taxidermy. It’s not a glamorous job. It’s dirty. It’s messy. It’s not a fun thing, but it’s a means to an end when you have to make a living.” Bob’s life was full of adventure and he was happiest when he was bugging with his friends and family. He loved special trips to Mexico with his son Bobby and nephews, Ernie and Lewie. Bob is survived by his wife, June of Congress, two daughters, Rhonda of Phoenix and Regina of California, two granddaughters, April Sadler and Tina Andrade, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, A sister, Bonnie (Elvin) Boyce of Salt Lake City; and sister-in-law, Ellen Hancock of Buhl, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Bobby; and his brother Clifford Hancock. A visitation/memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary 200 West Beardsley Rd. Phoenix, AZ. Burial to follow.
