It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” A. Koch, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. Bob passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Phoenix.
He was born in Madison in 1948 to Donald and Marcella Koch. A Vietnam veteran, Bob honorably served his country before beginning a life centered on family, hard work, and friendship.
Bob married Anna Terasa on March 24, 1979. He graduated from Edgewood High School with the Class of 1966 and later attended Madison Area Technical College. In 1981, he moved to sunny Arizona, where he built a long and successful career in Information Technology with the City of Phoenix, retiring in 2014 after 23 years of service.
Bob lived life to the fullest and enjoyed a cold beer, a good cigar, and polka music — lots and lots of polka music. He loved listening to polka music and traveling to polka festivals whenever he had the chance. He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in perfecting his lawn — undoubtedly the best on the block. He was a wonderful baker; handyman and his grilled hamburgers were a family favorite. He enjoyed videography and could often be found recording his grandson’s weekly flag football games, later creating highlight videos to share and cherish.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna; his children, Jeff (Toni) Koch, Jennifer (Michael) McQueeney, Kristin (Joshua) Warner, Nicholas (Lisa) Koch, and Michael Koch; grandchildren, Korbin Whitener, Sydney Koch, Kaylyn McQueeney, Mikayla McQueeney, Hunter Warner, McKinlee Warner and Ryan Koch; brothers, Duane (Janet) Koch and Daniel (Wendy) Koch. He is preceded in death by his parents; Donald and Marcella Koch; sister, Connie Wagner.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 at 1p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary at 200 W Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
