

Robert (Bob) West, age 83 passed away August 20th, 2022. He was born in Portalis, New Mexico on June 9th, 1939 and moved to Tacoma, Washington at a young age. Bob and his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1968. He was a contractor and built homes in the valley through the 70’s and 80’s. After which Bob began building US Post Offices throughout the United States. He retired in 2008. He traveled to South Africa on a mission trip to help with a Theological Bible College construction job. Bob was an avid hunter in his younger years, traveling to Alaska and British Columbia. He also enjoyed fishing for salmon in Forks, Washington with family over the past years. Bob also got his private pilot license and owned a plane which he flew for years. He purchased a ranch near Wickenburg, Arizona in the 1980’s and later moved the ranch to Silver City, New Mexico. Bob’s favorite thing was Christmas Eve! It was at his house each year, with no questions asked, where the entire family and numerous friends would gather, enjoying each other’s company and wait for Santa Clause. It will be a special memory to all who ever attended.
Bob was a member of the Dream City Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Where he devoted his entire life to Christ. Every family member was reminded each time they spoke with him that he expected to see them in heaven and they better get their lives in order.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen West (nee Hagen) and his children, Roberta “Bobbie” Acklin (Scott Acklin), Edward “Rusty” West, Karen Smith (Danny Smith) and their mother, Ann Batt (Goodwin). He is also survived by his two sisters, Sharyn Kennedy (Tim Kennedy) and Cheryl “Cheri” West-Gelormini (Nick Gelormini). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Bob is predeceased by both his parents, Ralph West and Esther West and brother, Gordon West.
