Sweet baby boy Roger was born on 12 September 1963 to Albert and Anna Bissonnette and was automatically despised by his siblings for being his parent's favorite "oops!" (As the TV was currently not invented yet.)
After several attempts to get rid of him his siblings: A. William (Bill) Staley (deceased), Ann Staley, Carl Staley and Gloria (Robert) Cosgrove decided it would be for the best and cheapest just to keep him.
Roger enthusiastically attended The Arizona Lutheran Academy with a graduating class of 25. Roger's love for life started to flourish from that point on!
Roger once brought his boom box into class and played some Pink Floyd, Another Brick in the Wall for his senior classmates. During his scholar years at ALA he wisely decided that short men with black hats could not offer what The United States Navy could. Jesus saved his soul while at ALA, but he thought maybe the Navy could straighten him out!
Chewbacca, AKA Roger, Santa, and Petty Officer/Store Keeper 1st Class proudly served his country for 20 years with United States Navy, in the which time he proudly retired and made his happily ever after in Arizona 30 minutes from his favorite casino.
Roger earned his dolphins as he served his country and received numerous other questionable unmentionables.
Roger's former job with the United States Navy still holds the oldest job title next to Jesus, Store Keeper! Roger's job entailed purchasing, procurement, shipping, receiving, and distribution of materials. For a pound of bacon, a burrito or 20 from Maine many items could and would definitely be overlooked (LOL).
Roger had two beautiful children Sara, and James to whom filled his life with joy, love and the thinning of hair.
On 5 December 1991 Sara went to reserve his parking space in heaven and grew her beautiful wings. Roger truly adored Sara and always kept her so very alive in his heart until 19 March 2016 when they joyfully reunited, enjoyed his fanny pack full of bacon and had their long awaited father/daughter dance.
James whom Roger was so proud of the man he had become and will continue to become to carry on the Bissonnette name. Roger always treasured the time they spent together and could not wait to share their next laugh together. His love for James was also truly to infinity and beyond.
Rogers survived by his loving wife Lisa to whom he met after a set of horrible directions given 10 years ago by her daughter. It was love at first sight and they became inseparable. Lisa was truly his soul mate and back shaver!
He always showed his love for her either it being via his very loud snoring or charcoal steak the chef in him prepared. Roger truly loved her with every beat of his heart.
Together they loved the casino as he always stole her winnings and traveled across the country to chase down Lo Cash Cowboys who played for them as they danced their first dance as husband and wife.
With his bride he also inherited his favorite little people his grandchildren Triton 3 (future Marine) Johnny 4 (Dragon Fighter) Cody 15 (the teenager) as well as their wonderful parents John and Lynn Ogozalek not to overlook also inheriting Darryl Ross.
Squiggly had many passions and obsessions, bacon and burritos being number one! Country music, golf, NASCAR, dirty jokes, sleeping, games with friends, showing up at your house for the "weekend" and staying a week and wearing shorts in the dead of winter during a blizzard. Roger truly believed he was part Eskimo.
Roger loved his friends and family more than anything. He could light up and empty a room in mere seconds! At any time he would give you the shirt off his back (in which time he was always encouraged to quickly put it back on)
Roger truly was the life of the party! He had incredible passion and a wonderful zeal for life! He lived every day as if it was his last. He was very proud of his opportunity to travel the world and take it all in. Roger's greatest accomplishment in life was his family and friends and though he is no longer with us the memories he gave us are truly memories no one could EVER forget!
A NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH
Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Revelation 21:1-7 NIV
Roger we know where you are, we know whom you are with. Your legacy will continue to live on in us your family forever.
Watch over us, guide us and protects us. Forever in our hearts!
