

Rudy Lara Castillo, 50, unexpectedly passed away on May 15, 2012. The Castillo family is saddened to announce the death of a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Born on November 19, 1961 in Hatch, New Mexico and the son of Maria and Alfonso Castillo. Rudy graduated from Carl Hayden High School, class of 1978. He had an outgoing personality, a big heart and was very passionate about his family and friends. His unique, vivacious personality and passion for life led him to a career with Motorola, Mayo Clinic, City of Avondale and finally the City of Tolleson. During his short career with the City of Tolleson he managed to succeed in becoming the President of SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America). Rudy was definitely the 'go to' person and master of all trades; he truly accomplished 100 years of life in only a matter of 50 short years. Rudy is survived by his beautiful wife of 30 years, Nora Castillo, his children, daughter Valerie Castillo, and his two sons, Fernando Castillo and Alejandro Castillo; and his mother Maria Castillo and grandchildren Malaki Aguilera, Ezekiel Aguilera and Carlisle Castillo. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and great friends. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. A visitation will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn on 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85009 on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 5:00PM-8:00PM. The funeral services will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church on 3140 N. 51st Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85031 on Friday May 25, 2012 at 10:30AM-2:30PM.. Following the funeral services a reception will be held at the Senior Center located on 9555 W. Van Buren St. Tolleson, AZ 85353.
