Ruth Cecelia Potts went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Ruth was born on December 6, 1923 in Zanesville, Ohio. She married Arthur Potts September 16, 1939. Shortly thereafter, when Art enlisted in the Army, Ruth moved to Akron to work for Goodyear on the Catalina PBY flying boat for the Navy where she was a bucker for the Riveters.
After the war they settled in Cleveland and later she became a hair stylist and co-owner of her own salon in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. They moved to Arizona in 1970 where they owned and managed an apartment complex in Phoenix. They retired from that “adventure” in 1977.
Ruth was preceded in death by Art in 1994. She leaves behind a son, Larry Potts, daughter Sandy Humppi, beloved son-in-law Douglas Humppi, grandchildren Scott Humppi, Robin Humppi, great grandchildren Noah and Jasmine Humppi and many beloved self-adopted children and grandchildren due to her gentle kind and loving spirit.
Services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85027, followed by a graveside service at Phoenix Memorial Park
