

Peoria – Sandra (Sandy) Brim Shelton, age 60, passed away on December 15, 2020, from the long-term effects of Multiple Sclerosis. Although her passing was sudden and unexpected, she was at peace when she left this world.
Sandy was born in Wichita, KS on August 22, 1960, to Wallace Dean Hollister and Deloris Sonya White. Sandy graduated from Kearns High School in Kearns, UT in 1978 and attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix in 1994.
Sandy’s early interests were in riding show horses and traveling throughout the US. In 1989 she developed Multiple Sclerosis, which restricted her mobility and then became involved with therapy animals and dog training.
Sandy worked for multiple employers during her life, including Wallace Associates, Southwestern Portland Cement, Weight Watchers, Renaissance Custom Homes, Aerotek Inc., Convergys, Arizona Public Service Company and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).
Sandy met her husband, Dave Shelton, while working for the Federal Government (WAPA) in Phoenix. Following their wedding on September 20, 1997, they resided in Phoenix, AZ until moving to Draper, UT in 2001. Upon Dave’s retirement in 2014, they returned to the Valley of the Sun where they resided in Peoria, until her death.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dave Shelton, her stepsons Kyle Shelton (Megan) and Tyler Shelton, her sister Teana Williams (Jim), her brother Tom Hollister (Barbara), grandchildren Kylee Tentomas, Landon Tentomas and Koen Shelton, as well as various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Deloris Hollister.
A private family service will be held in 2021.
