
Sarah Elizabeth Cypher Pattison arrived in Heaven at 8:52 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Sarah was greeted by loved ones and her Savior Jesus Christ. Sarah was born October 21, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to David Marion Cypher and Panzy Rosetta Bliss. She enjoyed the feeling of love and security her family gave her. Because of health concerns the family moved to phoenix Arizona in 1946. Sarah graduated in 1954 in the second graduating class at West High School. In 1957 Sarah met eloped with James Larkin Pattison to Lordsburg, New Mexico. They were blessed with three children, Elizabeth Louise, James Larking III and Sarah Jane Pattison. Their children were the focus joy of her life

Sarah was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (LDS) She loved teaching children and the youth. Her favorite calling was being “sister Friendly“ to the Primary children. Sarah loved her Savior Jesus Christ and honored the covenants she had made. Sarah trusted that the Savior always keeps His promises. Sarah knew that Families can be together forever as we make and keep sacred covenants.
Sarah attended Phoenix College and graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Science. Sarah worked for the Department of Economic Security for 17 years, first in welfare and later the Office of Special Investigations. Sarah later served on the board of the New Shelter working with Hope’s Closet.
Sarah loved reading, sewing, people, cats, and especially Christmas! She was blessed with the ability and capacity to love and serve others. When The Lord gave her only five grandchildren, Joshua, Nathaniel “Bear” / and Christopher Weakland, Jessica Erin and Jazmin Lynn Pattison who brought her great joy! Sarah went and “loved” others into her heart and life. Many called her Grandma Sarah. These include the Acosta family: Thomas Sr., Patricia, Robert (deceased), Joseph, Thomas, David, Daniel, Angel, Anthony and Nathaniel. The Szoenzi family: Rosalva and George. The Sesma family: Pablo, Nicholas, Christopher and Tehani. Her newest addition is Elder Austin Parker. She loved her nieces and nephews, Margaret Hampton, Gary Redfield, Rosetta Mandile, Allyson St. Vincent, Gabriel, Matthew and Michael Cypher. The great grandchildren were the icing on her life: Kynan, Brycen, Chayli, Tynlee, Gunner and Cypher.
Her family expresses their gratitude to the Lyon family, Richard Smith, Rosie Szoenzi, Kerri Chesley, Ken Bates and her daughter, Janey Weakland for helping her remain in her home.
Sarah is survived by her brother, David M. Cypher, Jr. (Lydia), Cousins, H. Sheldon Bates (Jacque), Tony R. Bates (Maria), Kenneth R. Bates, and H. Kathleen Lee and James L. Seeman. Her children, Elizabeth L. Pattison, James L. Pattison III (Sheri Lynn) and Sarah Jane “Janey” Weakland. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the family of her heart. Through her roles as daughter, sister, cousin, niece, mother, grandparent and friend Sarah as blessed our lives

LDS Stake Center

Funeral Service: at 11:00 a.m.
Burial: Monday, February 15, 2016
11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale Arizona
