Sophia Bertha Catalano 86 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on April 17, 2021. She was born in Magelang Indonesia on December 24, 1934 to the late Wilhelm and Emma Wendt. Sophia is survived by her son Perry (Steve), daughter in-law Kari VanderHout, her sisters Anne and Joke en Gerritt, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both parents and siblings: Sonja and Francisca.
Sophia was very compassionate with animals, and her dream was to live on a farm. She loved to sing, sew and paint on clothes that won her numerous 1st place awards at the Arizona State Fair. Sophia will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life with reception to follow will all be held at Calvary PHX church, 12612 N. Black Canyon Hwy., Phoenix Arizona, 85029 on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2pm
