Ted “Chickie” Mendoza a native of Arizona, passed away on May 14, 2016 at the age of 85. Ted was a man of many hats and adventures; he was a 2nd class airman in the Korean War, he was a great barber, carpenter, and landscaper. Ted loved playing basketball, especially with his grandchildren, and was a competitive pool player, and lover of music. Ted enjoyed reading anything he could get his hands on including the local newspaper, comic books, and true crime novels. Ted is preceded in death by his eldest son, Steve (1951 - 2000). He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Pat; six children, Carol, Gina, Sam, Scott, Salvatore; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 10am, followed by funeral services at 11am, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N 27th Ave Phoenix, AZ 85009.
