Thomas Nathan Taegel

Thomas Nathan Taegel, 72 years old, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully in his home October 27, 2023. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Deborah Taegel, his children, Jessica Woods (Jason), Phoenix, Arizona and Joshua Taegel (Selena), Phoenix, Arizona and his grandchildren, Jacob Woods, Jacksonville, Florida, Julie Woods, Mackensie Taegel, and Daniel Taegel as well as 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Josephine Taegel. He was born June 9, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, a city he loved and visited often. Tom is a 1969 graduate of St. Pius X High School.

Tom served his country proudly in the army during the Vietnam war from 1969 to 1972. He was a member of the American Legion. His family, especially his grandchildren were the light of his life and their Papa loved spending time with them. During his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at St Vincent De Paul, delivering food for the needy. Tom was a lifelong fan of both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. He loved to travel and in the past 3 years he especially enjoyed touring the United States in his RV with his wife by his side.

A visitation will be at Shadow Mountain Mortuary. His funeral mass will be held at St Gabriel Catholic Church, in Cave Creek, Arizona. followed by his burial in the The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
