Trude E. Steiger

She was born Edeltraud Minha on June 5, 1924 in Wels, Austria. She was the daughter of Richard and Theresia Aspock Minha and had two brothers, Carl and Lee and two sisters, Resi and Maria. She was the wife of Ellis Eugene Steiger. All who precede her in death.

While she was working at Feuerkagol, in Ebensee, Austria; she met and married, Ellis Eugene Steiger in Reid, Austria on July 5, 1952. After immigrating to the United States in 1954, she took the name Trude as her American first name. Trude & Ellis resided in Jerseyville, Illinois and after Ellis & Trude’s retirement they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona for over 30 years prior to moving to Olathe, Kansas to reside at Villa St. Francis Retirement Center.

She is survived by her two beloved sons, Carl E. Steiger (wife, Carol) and Richard L. Steiger (wife, Denise) along with her grandchildren: Beverly Renee Steiger, Daniel Steiger, Phillip John Steiger, Alicia Marie Steiger, Jenna Monoski and Christian Podzimek and two great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews in Austria.

Services for Trude Steiger will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027on Friday December 18, 2020; in the Chapel at 1:00 P.M.

Trude loved her children and grandchildren and loved life. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends & community. She will always be remembered for her loving ways and we will carry her memory in our hearts. Special thanks to the staff of Villa St. Francis for their care and compassion in her last years.
