Barbara. I'm so saddened to hear of Vinny's passing. I have so many fond memories of him and Danny at my house with Ryan. Sometimes  the boys would bring their sister. My heart is breaking for you and your family.  I'll never forget the cross country meets. Prayers. Thoughts and BIG HUGS for you and family.

Vinny and I loved to talk baseball, as we were both SD Padres fans. There aren’t many of us out there because the Pads notoriously stink year after year. He and I would gripe about plays, bad calls and SD management during and after games. Finally in 2016 or so he’d had enough of this terrible team and sore allegiance to another. The Dodgers of all teams! Yuck!! I had fun giving him crap about it and he didn’t mind because the Dodgers always won lol. We still had the love of craft beer we could agree on. He was such a fun loving guy with a good soul. His messages would always make me laugh and smile. I don’t have anyone to talk baseball with now…and the Padres continue to stink. I wish I had my friend back to share it with. I miss you, Vinny. RIP ❤️

I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Vinny for how fully he lived life; I will smile every time I see/hear anything about “Days of our Lives”, as I was always humored by his love for the “soap”; couldn’t help but love his years as a Padre fan, they needed more like him; and I always enjoyed getting to share a tiny bit of him through his Facebook posts…he inspired me with his positive outlook and zest for life. Vinny has been a friend for 30 years. We first met at AISL when I was 14 years old and have remained friends since. He was a kind and gentle soul back then and ever since. He had a huge heart and general concern for others. He was also loud as life quirky, funny, loved his sports teams in Cinci and UNLV of course. On March 14 of last year he reached out to me and asked how serious I thought this COVID virus was. If only we had known then just how bad it could be. I guess this is proof that God needed another angel. He is with God now and at peace for eternity. May the memory of my dear friend be eternal. I am sending prayers to Susan, Dan, and Mrs. Rodriguez. My favorite memory of Vinny happened when he visited us when we lived in New Jersey.  This was in the winter shortly after Christmas in the early 90's. He was on leave from the Army. 

I worked for The Wiz. The owner of the company had a suite at Madison Square Garden. Vinny was a huge NBA fan. I asked the owner if he could give me tix to see the Knicks play that night. He said he had given all the suite tickets away to some friends of his but he had 2 left.

I called Vinny at the house and told him I'd pick him up after work and then go to New York City. I explained to Vinny that the company was not hosting the suite so we had to eat before we went because the group of friends of the owner would be buying their own drinks and food for the suite.

When I got home to pick Vinny up, he was polishing off a huge sandwich he had made.  When we got to the suite at Madison Square Garden, it was full of a group of very orthodox Jewish men. Most of them were wearing yarmulkes, the skullcaps worn by observants Jews. Being two guys from Barstow, it was like we had entered a different world.

Now Vinny being Vinny, he immediately made friends with everyone. Soon, they were buying drinks and food for him. At one point Vinny had the whole suite roaring with laughter as he did his own broadcast of the basketball action on the court. Vinny was the hit of the party. It was like he had kown these guys his whole life.

The game was over and as we were getting our coats to leave, many of the guys came up to say goodbye to Vinny. They wanted me to let them know the next time Vinny was in town so they could hang out with him.

When we got to the car for the ride home, Vinny immediately fell asleep. I woke him up in the driveway. When we got in the house (about 1 am), Vinny said, 'Uncle Duff, I'm kind of hungry. I think I'll make myself a sandwich before I go to bed.'

I'm sure there are hundreds of similar Vinny stories. He will be missed.

I LOVE that I can start any story about Vinny with, "My cousin Vinny...."  I will never forget watching 'my cousin Vinny'  jumping out of a plane somewhere over Virginia...He lived his life the way he wanted, how he wanted, when he wanted. RIP cousin.  Much respect.  

I had the privilege of knowing Vincent for two years of my life. I’ll never forget our first encounter. Since that day on he was always the kindest, most caring and inspirational soul. Everything he did and said amazed me. He is truly rare and one of a kind. I will never forget you Vince. You impacted my life in ways no one else ever has. Thank you for all your love, guidance, and friendship. Thank you for always accepting me for who I was and never judging. No one will ever amount to what you were or how you made me feel. I miss you dearly and I always think of all our lovely crazy conversations. You filled my life up with so much warmth and happiness. I will continue to be the person you always praised me for. I hope to make you proud from above. Every move made will be made in your memory. I hope you are filled with pure peace and joy now. 

Vince we meet at Rainforest Cafe in San Antonio. We had such a blast there always laughing and joking around. You always called me Chitown. We just had meet up at a game in Phx for the cubs and we won. I wanted to hang out so much more now that you moved here to AZ. You were such a great man and had such a big heart. I love ya buddy and until we meet again Vinny. Love always Melissa. 

I spent 3 years in the Army with Vinny.  He was one of my best buddies in the service and we had plenty of memorable times there.  Vinny was always kind, laid back, and super funny with all those that served with us.  Vinny was one of the few people I kept in contact with after we got out and I was so sad to hear of his passing.  
Vinny is such a great person and the world lost a great man. Peace be upon him and his family as you mourn his loss.  Until we meet again brother!!

My heart is very sad in the loss of my dear friend Vince.  He will be greatly missed by many.   May the peace and comfort of JESUS be with the whole family now in your time of need.   

I was so sad to hear this news. Vinny was such a pure-hearted soul and one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. And the funniest! I have so many great memories of hanging out with him in Luxembourg during our time at AISL together. He always made me laugh and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He definitely has left us too soon and my heart goes out to his family - Dan, Susan and his Mom especially - sending big hugs to all of you. Please know I’m thinking of all of you and sending lots of love. May Vinny rest easy and may we keep him in our hearts and memories always. 

Vince and I were driving to move to Atlantic City together, him following in his Dodge Stratus, he was proud of that car. Then he got lost and separated with us in Texas and he ended up in Arkansas and I headed north towards Philly. We met up in Philly and he just said I think I made a wrong turn. Funny that he ended up in Arkansas many years later. Love you man.

My sincere sympathy goes out to y’all. Vinny, was a great friend! One of my favorite stories is when we ran cross country together,  he and I would lag behind the other runners, so we could turn down the street to his house and make a sandwich. We weren’t the best runners, but we did work up an appetite. I will miss you my friend. And my apologies out to your parents for eating their food without permission. Love you Vince!

Vinny, I had the great pleasure of knowing you and working with you for a few years. You always made me laugh and I loved how much you loved dogs. You will be truly missed Vin, I hope you are now resting in your heaven. 

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steel!
No grief is greater than the departure of a such a kind man.

I did not personally know Vinceent but my friend Allison was his best friend for over 20 years and he always made her laugh and showed her kindness and love.  They shared the ups and downs of life over the years.
My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the family for their loss.He is now at peace in heaven.
