Violet Delilah Shelbourn Ripley passed away after a short battle with cancer on April 25, 2013. Violet was born April 7th, 1928 in a sod house in rural Todd County, South Dakota to Ray and Lelah (Polen) Shelbourn. Violet spent her entire childhood on the family farm. She attended Valentine High School and following her graduation, Violet went on to the University of Omaha. Violet graduated in 1952 as a Surgical Nurse, a career she enjoyed for many years. During her retirement years, Violet traveled throughout the world including trips to Europe, Russia, Alaska, and New Zealand. Violet is survived by her sons Mark and Rick, daughter-in-law Cindy, and grandchildren Eric, Kevin and Christina. Violet was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Keith Ripley. Services will begin at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 in the Litchfield Park Ward Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 301 W. Wigwam Blvd. in Litchfield Park, AZ.
