

Walter F. Garbarino passed away, July 7, 2011, at 92 years of age. One of eleven children, born to Augustus and Nellie May Wolfe-Garbarino in Prescott, Arizona on June 4, 1919. Walter is survived by three children and one stepson. Gary Garbarino of Mi., Marilyn Garbarino-Ziwich (Fred) of Oh., Brian Garbarino (Jeanne) of Mi. and stepson Walter Catron (Angie) of Az. He was also a grandfather of 12 and a great-grandfather of 13.
He is preceded in death by wife of 17 years, Lorraine "Pete" Garbarino. While attending Phoenix Union High School he participated in the prestigious theater production of "The Masque of the Yellow Moon", volunteered at the Heard Museum, Herberger Theatre and member of the Arizona Pioneer Family. His "above and beyond the call of duty" in the military, serving under the command of General George Patton's 3'rd army earned him 5 battle stars. His lifetime career was in banking for over 30 years with the only interruption was to service our country in the military.
Services are scheduled Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 11am at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Az.
