Willa Dean Simmons

Dean moved to Arizona in 1963, where she built a successful career in the credit union industry. She began as a teller and was later promoted to manager at several credit unions throughout the Phoenix area. A driven and accomplished professional, she was an active member of Business Professional Women (BPW) for more than 50 years and proudly served as president of the organization for a term.

Dean had a love for both international and domestic travel and was known for her creativity, designing and selling handmade jewelry throughout the Valley. Her devotion to her beloved dog, Abby, was legendary and brought her endless joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny, in 2019. They shared 47 years of marriage.

Dean is survived by her children Mike (Tami) Schucker, Linda Schucker, Jeff Schucker, Mark (Rona) Simmons, and David Simmons; her grandchildren Amy, Jeff, Jessica, and Brandon; five great-grandchildren; and her nephew Billy (April) Simmons.

Services are March 23, 2026, at 11 AM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
