

Clair was born on December 22, 1931 in Wenatchee, Washington to Orlando and Stella Peterson. When Clair was a small boy, his family moved to Preston, Idaho where he grew up and went to Preston High School. He joined the United States Army when he turned 18 and served in the 11th Airborne in the Korean War. After his service, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona California Mission. After his mission, he married Joanne Bond on January 24, 1957 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He loved to serve in his church. He was a bishop, counselor to 3 bishops, a member of the high council, loved teaching Seminary worked in the Mesa Arizona Temple and held many other callings. He had a strong testimony of the gospel. He is survived by his wife Joanne of 63 years; his sister Kay Robinson; 5 children Tracy Prince (Greg), Kelly Marsh, Todd Peterson (Kari), Kimberley Berrett (Bruce), and David Peterson; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Lou, and his son-in-law Christopher Marsh.
All are invited to attend the visitation that will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix, Arizona. Due to the pandemic there will be a limited number allowed to attend the Funeral Services at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel on 3102 N. 18th Avenue on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11:00 am. A family viewing will be held from 10 - 10:45 am in the Relief Society Room. For both events, we are asking those who attend to follow CDC guidelines, to wear a facemask, practice Social Distancing and not attend if you are sick.
Services will be broadcast via Facebook Live by visiting A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuaries Bethany Chapel Facebook page on Saturday, June 20, 2020 beginning at 10:50 am. All are welcomed to attend this broadcast.
