Pickens, SC – Mr. Aaron Wallace Couch, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 1, 2022. Mr. Couch was born in Pickens County, South Carolina and was the son of the late James Crawford Couch and Edna L. Stone Couch and husband to Hazel Owen Couch.
Along with his loving wife of 67 years, survivors include his three sons James Aaron, Jerry Wallace (Beth) and Jeffery Dean Couch (Sandy) all from Pickens, South Carolina. Surviving are eight precious grandchildren: Suzanne Couch (Michelle), Jeremy Couch (Jenny), Drew Stegall, Cassie Crider, Jesse Couch, Bonnie Couch, Brandon Couch (Kayli) and Trent Couch (Kaycee). Also surviving are six most precious great grandchildren Kera, Jameson, Clay, Alexus, Hayley and Kaiden and one great great grandchild Killian.
Mr. Couch was predeceased by one grandchild Justin Couch.
Mr. Couch was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and had many friends. He never met a stranger having volunteered for many years for the Pickens Rescue Squad. Mr. Couch was a dedicated bear hunter and was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. Mr. Couch spent 40 plus years involved in the Pumpkin Festival in Pumpkintown, getting the pumpkins to the festival and as a greeter. He loved his bluegrass music and was well known for his rattlesnakes at Farm Days. His favorite saying was: “The least said is the easiest mended”!
A visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM with a chapel service being held at 3:00PM in the chapel. Burial will occur following the chapel service at Hillcrest Memorial Park 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy Pickens, South Carolina. Justin Anderson will be officiating.
