Born on January 20, 1936, in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late John Davis and Burdell Quarles Heaton. Mrs. Collins was a member of Cannon Mountain Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, fishing and planting her favorite flower, African violets. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Donald Alvin Collins; son, Donnie Ray Collins and his wife Reda Riggins Collins; granddaughter and best friend Jessica Jean Collins Gilstrap and her husband Jeremy Gilstrap and two great-grandsons James and Jonston Gilstrap.
Mrs. Collins was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Annette Heaton Wood and her husband James Wood.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 29, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Toni Stancil and the Reverend H.C. Couch officiating.
