Mr. Carpenter retired from Roadway Trucking and was of Methodist faith, he also served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He coached little league baseball for many years and won the 1975 Jr. Babe Ruth North Carolina State Championship.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl, four sons; Mitchell Carpenter and his wife Starr, Michael Carpenter of Charlotte, Todd Rampey and his wife Barnett of Easley, Tim Rampey of Liberty one daughter; Traci Littleton and her husband Matthew of Easley, one sister; Martha Crawford and her husband Emory of Mocksville, North Carolina. Mr. Carpenter also leaves 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren to share in his memory.
A memorial service will be held at Monday October 1, 2018 at 3pm in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel.
