Mr. Nix was born in Pickens County on March 11, 1941 to the late John C. and Mary Reece Nix. He retired from Ryobi of Pickens and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, canning, and working in his woodshop. He always had a good joke to share with everyone. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church where he taught the Men's Sunday School Class for many years. He also enjoyed traveling and singing with his long time friends in the Rowdy Mountain Boys.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Nix is survived by his two children: Randy Nix (Pamela) and Sandy Plain (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Zachary Nix, Quinn Nix, Sarah Lusk, Savannah Lusk, Hunter Nix (Shelby), Christopher "Kit" Lusk, and Cason Nix; and a sister: Gladys Looper (James).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his six siblings: Christine Julian, Lois Porter, Lillian Holcombe, Hazel Dodgens, Brenda Walker, and Calvin Nix.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Friday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
