David Thomas Holder

April 28, 1961 – October 26, 2025

David Thomas Holder, 64, of Pickens, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025.

David was known for his humor, loyalty, and big heart. He had a gift for making people laugh and always knew how to lighten the moment with his quick wit and trademark sayings. A proud fan of the Boston Celtics, Clemson football, and the Beatles, David lived life with passion and loved deeply.

He is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Margaret Holder. He is also survived by his niece and goddaughter, Rebecca Evans, her husband, Travis, and their children, Bryson and Layla; and his goddaughter and niece, Shelby Lawson.

He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Larry Looper; their daughter, Sydney Cox, and her husband, Sam; his sister-in-law, Mel Cooper; and his niece, Lauren Holder. Also surviving by his cherished Rauschenbach nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lib Holder, his brother Freddy Holder, and his beloved nephew, Sam Looper.

He was a quiet believer with a loud laugh, a true friend, a gentle soul, and the best uncle anyone could ask for. David will be remembered for his humor, his heart, and the love he gave so freely.

A private family service and graveside burial will be held at a later date.
