Dorothy was born in Liberty to the late Ellie Bracken and James Fletcher Lesley. She loved her family and others deeply, only second to her Lord, and was known affectionately as “Nana” to many. She was a member of Golden Grove Wesleyan church where she served as pianist/organist for around 70 years. She served others in so many ways including many years of volunteer work with a local nursing home. Her witty sense of humor gave many hours of laughter and she was well known for her vegetable beef soup, coleslaw and ripe tomato relish.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Karla Hall (Ken); daughter Kristi Williams (Richard); grandchildren Hannah Tinsley, Kenley Owens, Emily Purvis (Matt), Kody Hall, Ben Williams, and Jeremy Schultz (Summer); great grandchildren Oaklynn and Axeton Tinsley, Anna Joy, Ellie Mae and Asa Purvis, Nolan Owens, and Maddox Shultz; and her sister, Patsy Lesley Carter (Ralph).
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Pilgrim.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina 29671.
