Frances was born on December 1, 1927, in Pickens Couny, SC, daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline Porter Hughes. She was a member of Pickens First Baptist and the TEL Sunday School Class. She was a retired seamstress from Sir Shirtmakers.
Surviving are her four children, Gail Grant of Simpsonville, Anita (Woody) Culp of Fair Play, Ladell (Lawrence) Crenshaw of Pickens and Buford (Sherry) Riggins of Pelzer; two sisters, Freddie Seaborn and Annette Smith; one brother, Brodie (Ilene) Hughes; eight grandchildren, Carla and Mark Grant, David and Matthew Culp, Libby and Adam Riggins, Seth and Wes Crenshaw; five great-grandchildren, Catherine and Will Culp, Kaylee, Kelsey, and Ben Crews. Frances was also preceded in death by one sister, Lois Loaiza and two brothers, Joe Hughes and Portis Hughes.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 31, 2021, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home, Pickens, SC.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Fred Stone and Reverend Bryan Hester officiating. Burial will follow the service at Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens, SC.
